As children, we could be found laughing one moment, in tears the next and smiling once again all in the matter of seconds. Our emotions flowed freely as did our expressions. However, as we grew toward adulthood, we were taught that we should hide or stifle our emotions. We where told: “big boys don’t cry,” “be happy,” “don’t be sad,” or ” if you don’t stop crying, I’ll give you something to cry about.”

We began to feel different. Why did we feel this way when we were told we shouldn’t. The truth of the matter is we are not different. Those that taught us to hide our emotions, where taught the same thing. Thank God, in this new age, we are tapping back into our feelings and wanting to feel more. We want to know who we truly are.

The more time we spend asking ourselves what is really going on within our heart, the sooner we will realize all we want is to be be a vessel of free flowing love, peace and joy. We are extensions of God.

Today, I pray that we are brave enough to give ourselves permission to feel and express those feelings in a loving way. This is part of the awakening to our true identity.

And so it is!
